It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Doreen Mary Love, a devoted mother, cherished family member, and inspiration to all who knew her. Doreen left us peacefully on March 6th, at the age of 71.
Doreen was born in Guam on May 20, 1953 to William and Alma Love. She traveled the world as an Air Force brat and graduated in 1971 from Richard King High School in Corpus Christi, Texas. Doreen spent over 20 years working for Exxon/Mobil as a project manager all over the world. She became a loving and committed mother to Shea Christine in 1972, Lelana Marie in 1973, Elisha Yvonne in 1978, Melanie Rose in 1980 and Tracy Jeanette in 1987. Her love for her children knew no bounds, and she dedicated her life to nurturing, guiding, and supporting them in every possible way. She made it her life’s mission to ensure that each of them felt loved, valued, and empowered to live their lives with passion and purpose. Her family meant the world to her, and she took on the role of mother to anyone in need, offering warmth, care, and understanding to all who crossed her path. Her incredible ability to make others feel special and loved was unmatched. Whether through kind words, an open ear, or generous acts of kindness, Doreen was always there to help and offer a shoulder to lean on.
Her zest for life was contagious. Her boundless energy, laughter, and enthusiasm brought light to every room she entered. Doreen approached every day with passion that inspired those around her to live fully, embrace joy, and find beauty in the simplest moments. Her love of life was not only reflected in the love she gave to others but in the joy she found in small, everyday things. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the legacy of love, warmth, and positivity she leaves behind will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Doreen is survived by her five beloved children: Shea Duque, Lelana Marie Feeney, Elisha Yvonne Noll, Melanie Rose Blackstock, Tracy Jeanette Cardim; her grandchildren: Sadreanda, Zachery, Jared, Victoria, Kyle, Alexander, Liam, Bailey, Cooper, and Logan; her great grandchildren: Nina, Karter, Kyzer, Koen; and her extended family Linda Tansey, Janice Vose, and Yvonne Naimo. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Alma Love and grandson Patrick James Facio.
In Doreen fashion, she wanted a celebration of her life, not a funeral. The celebration will be on March 15th. A livestream link via Microsoft TEAMS will be sent out. In lieu of flowers, she would love donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
