He graduated from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana in 1951 and married the love of his life Juanita Jordan that same year. Doug spent his career as a lab technician at Cit Con Oil Company in Lake Charles until his retirement in 1984. The couple lived in Lake Charles until 1971 when they moved to Moss Bluff, Louisiana, where they happily resided until 2007 when they moved to Houston to be close to their children and grandchildren.
Doug was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church in Lake Charles for his entire adult life, serving as a Sunday School teacher and usher. He and Juanita joined Metropolitan Baptist Church following their move to Houston.
Doug’s life was richly blessed and he gratefully blessed the lives of everyone he met. His 87 years of loving, giving and caring for others will bring joyous rewards in Heaven.
