Edward Eugene Vaughan (Gene) was born September 7, 1935 in Mullen, Texas, Mills County. Passed away on Monday May 26, 2014 in Shenandoah, Texas in Montgomery County. Married to Minnie Joyce Meinen (Joyce) on June 8, 1956 in Port Arthur, Texas. They shared 58 loving years together.
Gene will be remembered by his family and vast friends over the years. His hobbies included square dancing, sailing, and had been an avid camper for many years. He attended Lamar University and graduated from Almada College and University. He loved to read and his favorite author was Louis L'Amour. He was a Christian and enjoyed attending Sunday services. We will miss him dearly until we are united again. He was an incredible man and we have wonderful memories to sustain us.
Survived by 2 brothers: Richard Vaughan of Kirbyville, Texas; Joe Ben and Maye Vaughan of Huntington, Texas and many nieces and nephews. Survived by 5 children: Daniel and Beth Vaughan of Houston, Texas; Michael Vaughan and Joyce Sernec of Houston, Texas; David and Rikki Vaughan of Cypress, Texas; Linda and Dillon Vaughan of Spring, Texas; Brenda Vaughan Sherman of Spring, Texas and 15 Grand Children and 8 Great Grand Children
Preceded in death by: Mother- Nila Dale Cornelius Vaughan Hoffpauir; Step-father- Ted Hoffpauir; Father- Robert Tilman Vaughan; Sister-in-law- Lavergne Vaughan; Granddaughter- Christina Hawkins.
Funeral Arrangements will be held at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home on Monday, June 2, 2014 at 2pm with Pastor Steven Sohns officiating. Interment will follow immediately after the Funeral Service.
