Elizabeth Allen Burgin

Elizabeth was born June 30, 1920 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the only child to Frances and Charles Allen. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from the University of Colorado in Boulder and taught elementary school for 20 years before she retired. Elizabeth married Ralph Elliott in Salt Lake City, Utah on February 2, 1944. Elizabeth and Ralph had two children, which ultimately led to 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. After Ralph died in 1989, Elizabeth reconnected with best high school friend, Max Burgin, and they were married in 1991. After many years living in N. Little Rock, Arkansas, Elizabeth and Max moved to Texas to be closer to their family.

Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents, Frances and Charles Allen, and husbands Ralph Elliott and Max Burgin. She is survived by her children, Bob Elliott, of Rockwall, Texas, and Betsy Burns and her husband David, of Conroe, Texas; grandchildren Erin Fly and her husband Scott, Robyn Ratton and her husband Steve, all of Rockwall, Texas, Megan Sheffield and her husband Brent, of Hickory, North Carolina, Courtney Atkins and her husband Neil, of Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts, and Bo Elliott and his wife, Melissa, of Dallas, Texas; and 7 great grandchildren who were the apples of Elizabeth's eyes.

A gathering of family and friends was held August 13th at Forest Park Funeral Home The Woodlands. In lieu of flowers, the family requested that donations be made to St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 4106 John F. Kennedy Blvd, N. Little Rock, Arkansas 72116.
