Elridge worked hard all his life, farming with his family in his early years, then serving in the United States Army during World War II along with his 3 brothers. After his service in the military, he married Dorothy Green on February 12, 1950. He worked in sales and management in the agriculture industry.
His contributions to the Southwest Louisiana farming community will always be remembered.
Elridge and Dot raised their children and spent their pre-retirement years in Jennings, LA. They moved to The Woodlands, TX in 2008 to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
Elridge was a very loving and faith-filled husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
He is survived by Dot, his loving wife of 72 years, daughter Bonnie (Chet) Selby of Many, LA., son Scott (Maryanne) of Montgomery, TX, Grandchildren Kelly (Cory) O’Quinn, Erin (Jeremy) Franklin, Jordan (Ryan) Broussard, Melanie (Mark) McKinney, Jennifer (Jeremy) Zadow, and Lana Broussard; Great-grandchildren Zachary, Julia, Sam, Gus, Cydney, Tyler, Lucy, Eleanor, Luke, Miles, Boone, Ryder, Landon, and Cameron.
Visitation and Funeral Vigil will be held at 6 pm Thursday, June 30, at Forest Park Funeral Home in The Woodlands, TX.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am Friday, July 1, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in The Woodlands, TX. Burial with military honors will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 5, at Houston National Cemetery in Houston, TX.
