Emma Jean Duve Sandifer, 92, a lifelong resident of Houston Texas. She went home to be with her Lord on Aug 11, 2026 after a long battle with Mixed Dementia.
She loved her Jesus and was a fierce prayer warrior. She loved praising her Lord with music. She was musically inclined, playing the guitar, flugelhorn and accordion, placing 2nd in Texas on the accordion while in high school. She was a worship leader at one of her former churches.
She loved camping and backpacking and was an international traveler including several mission trips. She loved to travel.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Alvin C. Sandifer and her parents Walter H. and Daisy Gladys (nee Alexander) Duve.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Sandifer (Deborah Edson) of Cedar Park, TX, Mark Sandifer (Cynthia) of Windsor, CO, Cheryl Sandifer of Magnolia, TX and Karen Henderson (Quinn) of The Woodlands, TX. She also had 5 grandsons, Michael, Chris, Justin, & Aaron Sandifer, and Nicholas Henderson, as well as 1 great granddaughter.
She is also survived by her sister, Colleen Shropshire (John) of Atascocita, TX along nieces Collette Chapman and Dawn Shropshire. She also has 1 nephew, David Hall of Benton, LA.
Services for her will be held at HopePointe Anglican Church in The Woodlands on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at 10:00 am. Rev. Travis King will officiate the service. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home. The burial will be at Forest Park East following the service.
