Evelyn G. Skinner born 10/04/28 in Baltimore MD departed this life on 9/27/14 ten years after her beloved husband Richard Skinner. She leaves cherished memories with her son John Skinner & wife Jeanne; daughter Sharon and husband Shawn Melnar, her grandchildren Justin & Janna Skinner; Sydney, Mason, and Dylan Melnar as well as sister Lillian Beelat; nieces Jeanne Dykstra and Janice Pearse, neighbors and friends.
Her 85 years of life included attending Notre Dame receiving BA in Speech while enjoying lead roles in plays such as Joan of Arc. She completed graduate school at U of V, and then worked as Airline Hostess for Capital and Japan Airlines and as Bellcomm consultant to NASA during the 1960’s man to the moon race while based in Washington DC. She moved with family to Houston and worked as VP of AAUW and as Annual Home Tour chairperson in early 90’s. She was a loving wife, devoted mother and mentor. She loved exploring new ideas, education and enjoyed extensive travelling with husband and later with friends.
