He passed away on November 12, 2025 at the age of 83 with his loving wife of 33 years, Barbara, by his side.
Gary went to Northside High School where he was a star athlete in football and track. He attended Henderson County College, where he was a Little All American football player, and served two years in the Army before completing his business degree from TCU.
Gary excelled in the steel and oil industries throughout his career. Gary was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and doing yard work outside with his dogs. He was a loving husband and father, and was quick to help those in need.
Gary is survived by his wife Barbara; his sons Drew, Chris, and Clay and their wives Miranda, Shannon, and Kim, and his son Gary; his daughters Sarah and Lori and Lori’s husband Mike; his brother Monty and wife Connie; his stepfather Louis; his grandchildren Jordan, Alex, Lukas, Ashley, Garrison, Caroline, and Maverick; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
A visitation will be held on November 18, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home & Cemetery, located at 18000 Interstate 45 South, The Woodlands, TX 77384, in the Grand Hall.
The funeral service will follow on the same day, November 18, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, also in the Grand Hall at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home & Cemetery.
A graveside service is scheduled for November 18, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm at the same location.
A catered reception will take place on November 18, 2025, from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm in the R.L. Wood room at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home & Cemetery.
