Genevieve was born on March 11, 1955, in Houston, to Phillip and Tommie Araiza. She lived her life with unshakable faith, fierce love, and a heart that never stopped giving. Genevieve’s presence made others feel seen, heard, and deeply valued. Her legacy isn’t just in what she did, but in how she made people feel; loved, uplifted and never alone.
Genevieve is survived by her husband, Thomas Alan Peters; daughter, Kelley Araiza Peters; her brothers: Phillip, Michael, Errol, and Scott; her sisters: Carolyn, Stephanie, and Jennifer; her nephews: Jeffrey, Samuel, Ernest, Ross, Michael, and Tomek; her nieces; Laura, Danielle, Angela, Amanda, Alyssa, Adriana, Lily, Jessica and Catherine; and her grandpup, Hondo. She also leaves behind many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Genevieve was preceded in death by her father, Phillip; her mother, Tommie; and her sister, Denise.
She was deeply loved, and her memory will be cherished always.
Her celebration of life will be held at 3 pm on Sunday June 29, 2025 at The Peach Orchard with Greg Johnson officiating.
