To my dearest Bababozorg,

Since you've passed, I've found myself reflecting on every priceless memory we have shared together. I have many regrets, countless things left unsaid, and an unfathomable, lingering feeling of guilt for the moments with you I did not appreciate while you were still here. But, knowing you and your unwavering positivity and strength, I am certain you would rather me focus on the good times. So instead of sulking, I will remember your voice, full and flowing with literature, history, and language. I will remember your humorous quips about Agha Felfeli and your never-ending jokes that filled our quiet house with laughter. I will remember your admirable selflessness, which stayed with you up until your very last moments. But above all, I will remember the impact you had on every single person you met, and the way you kept our family together during hardship. I will never forget you Bababozorg, you are embedded in my heart and soul forever.

Dear Grandpa, 

My heart has felt heavy since your passing. Everywhere I turn, I see you. I see you sitting in your favorite chair drinking tea, watching the news at your desk, and if I close my eyes I can almost hear your footsteps as you walk down the staircase from your bedroom to the kitchen.  Its hard for this house to feel like a home without you, and this family doesn't feel complete without you. I will forever miss your witty comments at mealtimes, your never ending wealth of knowledge, and the way you cared for everyone around you. Thank you for all the times you held my hand and took me to the park growing up, every time you waited at the bus stop for me to come home from school, and for every laugh I shared with you for the past 23 years. More than anything I wish I could express this gratitude I have for you in person. You were taken from me and from all of us way too soon and there is so much I still have to say to you. You will forever be missed, never forgotten, and deeply loved. I will be thinking of you Bababozorg.

I was deeply saddened to hear that Mr. Maemarzadeh is no longer with us, but have a deep gratitude for having shared so many meaningful conversations and memorable moments with him. Whenever we met, our discussions would inevitably turn to Iran, a country he loved with all his heart. He spoke about its history, culture, and future with remarkable knowledge and genuine passion. Our exchanges of ideas were always enlightening, thoughtful, and enriching. I learned much from him, not only about Iran but also about life itself. He possessed a rare combination of wisdom, kindness, and humility. He was a true gentleman who treated everyone with respect and warmth. His knowledge was extensive, yet he wore it lightly. He listened as carefully as he spoke, and he always made others feel valued and understood.
What I will remember most is his generosity of spirit. He had a gift for bringing people together through conversation, friendship, and sincere interest in their lives. Time spent with him was never ordinary. Whether discussing history, current events, literature, or personal experiences, every encounter left me richer in understanding and grateful for his companionship. His love for Iran never diminished. It remained a constant source of pride and inspiration throughout his life. Through his words and example, he reminded others of the beauty of its culture and the importance of preserving its heritage.

Mr. Maemarzadeh’s warm presence, wisdom, and friendship are engraved in my memory. Though he is no longer with us, the lessons he shared, the kindness he showed, and the affection he inspired will remain forever.
May his memory be a blessing to his family, his many friends, and all those whose lives were enriched by knowing him.
