Helen Bagala was a loving wife, mother, sister, and dear friend to anyone that met her. She left this world to join God in Heaven Wednesday, September 8th, 2021. She was 66, but no one could ever guess her age, she had the face of an angel and the spirit of one too.
She was born to Melba and Gene Caliano on June 30th, 1955 in Brooklyn, New York. She loved growing up in her city and seized every opportunity to better her education. She met her husband Vincent Bagala Jr. at Lafayette High School in 1973 and they were in love until the day she passed. After attending Hunter College in Manhattan, Helen and Vincent were married January 6th, 1980 and decided to make the great move from New York to Texas. Together, they had two boys, Richard and Jonathan.
Helen loved her children and her family. She also loved her community and would do anything she could to help like participate in her children's school activities, reading programs, volunteer work, fundraisers, church programs, food drives. She was there for her friends, family, and neighbors. As a warm and generous Italian Mom would want to do, she loved to feed her boys and their friends. "Bagala's Mom" or "Finn's Mom" would bring food to school on her days off and would make extra lunches for her boys to share with their friends before football practice. She always cooked with lots of love and always wanted to give. She made the absolute best lasagna, it was a special holiday dish everyone looked forward to, and would even fight over. Helen's true passion was her family, she knew every moment was precious which is why she loved to decorate and make every occasion so magical.
Her friends called her Miss Helen, and she was so grateful to have so many of them. She was genuine, compassionate, light-hearted and filled with optimism. She was someone you could talk to, confide in and you always knew she listened to your concerns with a tender heart. You could feel her love when she embraced you and she was never capricious or judgmental. She accepted and loved everyone for who they are. Helen created a legacy of everlasting love and happiness we will cherish in our hearts forever.
