On December 15, 2010, Helen Naomi Teel went home to be with the Lord. She began her life in a small town, Piqua, Ohio on June 7, 1922. Twenty years later, during World War II, she met and married her soldier husband. After the war, she settled with him on a farm in Indiana to raise their family. Later she worked at Purdue University, primarily in the Army ROTC program, while at the same time pursuing her degree over a 20-year period. She received her BA degree in Counseling in 1990 from Purdue University at the age of 67. She loved being with the younger generation. She attended the Schuyler Avenue Wesleyan church in Lafayette, Indiana for over 50 years and started their Stephen’s Ministry program. In the late 1990’s, she and her husband moved to Houston, Texas to be close to their children and grandchildren. She volunteered as a hospital chaplain in The Woodlands during the last few years of her life. She is preceded in death by her husband Charles J. Teel. She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Breitenfeld and Judy Kauer and her husband, Peter Kauer; her son Dan Teel and wife, Donna Kruszewska. Surviving grandchildren are Laura Rodriguez and husband, Stephen Rodriguez , David Kauer, Denny Breitenfeld, and Lisa Breitenfeld.
