Jack Rutledge quietly passed away on September 21, 2018, at The Broadmoor in Creekside Park, a transitional healthcare facility. He was surrounded by his loving family. Jack was born April 22, 1945 in Flint, Michigan, and was a resident of The Woodlands, Texas, since 1981.
Jack was a U.S. Army veteran and proudly served his country during the Vietnam Era. Jack was a graduate of Bloomfield Hills High School, after which he attended Michigan State University.
With a love and passion for people, Jack spent his entire professional career in sales. Jack spent 14 years with Tom Peacock Cadillac, serving his customers as Fleet Manager. While at Cadillac, Jack achieved the Cadillac Crest Club distinction, year after year, salesman of the month and salesman of the year many times. Jack then shifted focus to spend the next 14 years with The Woodlands Custom Homes. Again a top performer, Jack was recognized for outstanding achievement and distinguished service by the National Association of Home Builders with the Million Dollar Circle Gold Award.
Jack was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, whose top priority was always his family. He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas H. Rutledge and Isabelle Rutledge. He leaves behind his loving wife of 49 years, Starr Merrill Rutledge; his children, son Christopher Rutledge and wife Sheri, son Matthew Rutledge and wife Jodi, daughter Carolyn Stevenson and husband Bart; his grandchildren, Savannah Rutledge, Cailey Rutledge, Joshua Rutledge, Macy Rutledge, Landon Rutledge, Zach Stevenson, Ben Stevenson, Adam Stevenson, Trevor Stevenson; his brother Thomas Rutledge.
Services were held at Forest Park, The Woodlands Funeral Home. It was a celebration of a life well lived. Jack will be missed greatly by family and friends.
