James Arnold Chatterton, 84, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016 at home in Spring, Texas. James was born August 23, 1932 to Simon and Hattie (Smith) Chatterton in Galveston, Texas, the youngest of 3 children. He graduated from Fanshawe High School and attended 2 years of college in Oklahoma.
He married his high school sweetheart, Patsy Ann Chatterton in 1955 in Poteau, Oklahoma. As he began his new life with his beautiful wife, he began his lifelong profession as a stationary engineer. James was actively involved with encouraging young people interested in stationary engineering, Ponderosa Fire Department, local church and as a Scottish Rite 32nd degree Mason.
James is survived by his son, Michael; daughter, Rebecca; son-in-law, Daniel; grandchildren, Jessica, Andrew, Dana, and Barbara; five great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Vannie Maude Baker, sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am on November 19, 2016 at Forest Park the Woodlands Funeral Home Chapel, 18000 Interstate 45 South, The Woodlands, Texas 77384.
