James “Russ” Rummage, 87, of Spring, Texas, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on August 27, 2025 surrounded by family and loved ones. He was born at home in Utica, MS on February 28,1938. Russ graduated from Aldine High School and received a Bachelor of Business Administration from University of Houston. He was married to Melody on June 3, 1989. Russ spent the largest part of his career in credit reporting for CSC Credit Services.
Russ served in the United States Air Force as an Airman second class for three years performing the duties of Radio Repairman I.
Russ was a member of Spring Baptist Church for 30 years and had a passion for singing in the choir and teaching in the Pre-school department. He taught four and five year olds for over 20 years. His love for church music resulted in him leading worship at several churches.
Mr. Rummage’s favorite sport was baseball with his favorite team being the Houston Astros. His favorite pastime was spending time with his three grandchildren.
Russ was preceded in death by his parents Harry May and Ora Mae Rummage and siblings Harry Rummage Jr, Juanita Phillips and Gene Rummage.
Russ is survived by his wife Melody Rummage, children Scott Rummage, Lisa (Phong) Vuong and Karen Turbeville; grandchildren Blake Vuong, Colby Vuong and Catherine Turbeville and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honoring the family as pallbearers are Tom Luce, Rick Thomas, Jim Stone, Chris Chapman, Mike Palm and Bill Zaffos.
