I only met Jason a few times (mostly at birthday parties 🙂). But, from knowing you and your parents, I know he was a wonderful husband and father.  And from what I’ve seen on Facebook this year, I’ve come to learn so much more about him and the great man he was.  (And a Cowboys fan to boot!)   I am so incredibly sorry for your loss.   I’m amazed by the strength you have shown through this and love seeing your undying faith.  What a wonderful role model you are for your beautiful girls!  You, and your family, continue to be in my prayers.  💕

Jason you are the best boss I ever had and I learned so much from you! More than that you were a great friend I still remember the many Sunday’s we would meet with Todd and his Father to watch the Cowboys games when they were on blackout😊 We are the die hard Cowboys fans! You taught me so many things in life in my career and the profound very long conversation we had at your 50th Birthday! Where we spoke about many deep things but most of all our deep faith in God and how blessed you were with Nicki and the girls and how you knew it all came from God... all of it how far you had gone in your career all of your gifts and talents. You knew how lucky you were... We basically marveled at the wonder and the divine favor of God in both of our lives.... I will never forget that conversation. You  are an inspiration to me and to many a true reflection of integrity and grace. You will be deeply missed by many but never forgotten. I will carry the treasured memories of you forever in my heart and the lessons you taught me💗 I know you are in the loving arms of our mighty God! I love you and I miss you! Rest in Peace... 


Loved listening to your TED talk, Strength in Struggle. You lived out that truth courageously. Well done good and faithful servant. God’s grace, peace, and comfort to Nicole, Kaylee, and Ashlee. 

I was raised in Hillsboro.  I knew the name Jesse Halbert when I was growing up. I graduated in 1964. After marrying my high school sweetheart, we raised three boys. At the age of thirty-five, in 2016,   my youngest son Josh was diagnosed with GBM. He survived three and one-half years, passing away on January 23, 2019. He was my absolute hero because of the way he handled GBM. 
When Jason's story appeared on FB, I was drawn to it and the Hillsboro connection. Very quickly I could see many similarities to Josh's journey, despite the age difference. I cried many times reading the updates on Jason, knowing the eventual outcome. I think of your family often, knowing Jason and Josh are probably discussing their lives as we speak. Jason was, too, a brave hero who faced the Monster, GBM, with courage and bravery.  
 

Nicole, Kaylee, and Ashlee,
I briefly worked with your husband; dad at HPE.  Deepest sympathy on your loss.  I'm sending you lots of thoughts and prayers.  Jason was incredibly dedicated to his work, driven to do a great job, eager to learn new things, and always conducted others with respect and professionalism.   He set a great example for all of us and his contributions will live on.  

When I think of Jason I think about his smile. I didn’t see him often but when I did he always had a smile on his face and most of times that smile was because of his three girls that he loved so much.  :)

We did not know Jason well (except through Facebook) but have been friends with the Clowson family since Nicole was in her early teens and babysat for us.  Through our lifetime friendship with Dale and Karen, we have heard how wonderful he was as a son in law, husband and father and it has been truly inspirational to see his faith journey through his terminal illness. We have been lifting up the family for years and will continue to do so. Our hope is in the promise of heaven, where we will one day be reunited.  We are very sorry to miss the service and celebration of life due to our participation in the CFBC Christmas Spectacular but will be with the family in spirit.  We love you!

It’s very hard reading obituaries as is this one about some one you have know since his birth . Jason and my son Were in school together , sports together and remained  friends all those years with our entire family. Jason was in my home many times, ate meals with us many times, and he was always very polite, courteous, fun to be with. Of course when these kiddos grown up and make their own lives with their families you don’t see them as much, but While attending a visitation of a passed friend Jason joined my family for dinner at a home town restaurant and we talked about the days of years ago and told stories and incidents and laughed and cut up ......we had a great reunion with Jason that night, that would be the last time I saw Jason alive! I will always cherish that last visit with Jason. He was a great person and loved his family dearly, he will be missed! Prayers for his wife, girls, mother, and all family members as they learned to  to life without Jason

You work with many people in your life, and I've worked with 1000s.  The vast majority are good people (hard working, conscientious, honest, pleasant, and reliable), and because of this most don't stand out.  Jason did.  While he was "only" a work friend, we worked together off-and-on for over a decade at Compaq/HP, and stayed in touch through social media after that.  He was an enjoyable person to be around, whether it was in the office or an after-work happy hour.  I respected his intelligence, dedication, transparency, and collaboration.  We didn't always agree, but we could always resolve any differences in opinion.  When he left HP for a period, I knew they were losing someone that would be hard to replace.  For the many people that have known Jason, they will agree that he's hard or impossible to replace.  God speed.

I worked with Jason at Cpq/HP for a number of years.  Jason was always a pleasure to work with.  Not only was he excellent at his job, but more importantly, he was a genuine, nice person.   I know he will be greatly missed by coworkers and especially his lovely family.  My prayers are that our Lord has Jason in His arms and that the Holy Spirit will comfort the family.  

Jason was an incredible human being and such an inspiration. Jerret and I were blessed and honored to be called his friends. The strength and courage that Nicki and his girls showed throughout Jason’s entire journey is proof of the kind of man Jason was, inspiring, faithful, strong and loving.  We pray for strength  and peace for Nicki and the girls  in the days and years ahead.

The Halberts & Gages were families that spent many hours at the Hillsboro City Park. Jason, my sister, Kathy, & brother, Tom, were a few of the  kids that grew up there while our parents volunteered, whether they coached, kept books, or worked the concession stand.  It doesn’t seem that long ago to me. Nicole & girls, hugs to y’all. Jason was a good man. I’m so glad y’all made so many memories together. I especially loved the “wedding” videos & pics. What a wonderful thing to do. Prayers to ease the grief you’re feeling. Jason is whole again. "Those who are first will be last and the last, first”.


My friend, you might not remember me, but I sure do remember you. You were my mentor through baptism at Faithbridge. You helped me obtain a personal connection with Jesus I knew I needed for many years. Well...Jason, you are directly responsible for my friendship and connection with Jesus Christ. And I know I wasn't the only one you helped get saved. Chad Clowson is our mutual connection, and it didn't don on me that we had mutual friends, until seeing your benefit through Facebook. After reading through the diagnosis, my heart truly breaks. All of my heart prayers for you. I didn't know you throughout your life. I don't know all the beautiful memories you created. Your family seems extremely lovely and grateful to have such a great dad and husband in their lives. With no doubt I can say that, you have always put people before you and made sure that others are taken care of before you are. So... my friend... Those who put themselves before others might look to others like they are last or missing out on earthly things, but the truth is... Men like you will always be welcome first. I love you as a Christian, man and my mentor. God bless, and can't wait until next Sunday when I get to meet all of your blessed and grateful friends.
