James Alan Nelson of The Woodlands, Texas, went to be with God on Monday, February 17, 2025. He was born in Great Lakes, Illinois on July 6, 1946. Jim graduated from Memorial High School in Houston and went on to receive a Masters of Business Finance from The University of Denver. He had a 47-year long career at Grocer’s Supply Company in Houston, Texas.
He was married to Barbie Nelson for 53 years. He loved his family, his close friends, golf, and the mountains.
Jim was preceded in death by his mother, June Frazier, his father, Wallace Nelson, his stepfather, Silas Frazier, and his sisters Sheri Maclean, Susan Rohman, and Pam Frazier.
He is survived by his wife, Barbie Nelson, his daughter, Pam Nelson, his son, Jimmy Nelson, and his daughter-in-law, Haleigh Nelson.
A celebration of life for Jim will be held Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home, 18000 Interstate 45 South, The Woodlands, TX 77384. A graveside service will occur immediately afterwards from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery. A catered reception will be provided from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM in the Woodcrest Room.
