Joan Lee

She was born in East Chicago, IN on January 22, 1954. Joan McMillan (Lee) graduated from the University of Delaware and received her BSBA from College of Business.

She was married to Jonathan S. Lee on June 14, 1975, and together they shared 51 years of love, meaningful glances, silent understandings, and decades of inside jokes.

Joan Lee was a Vice President of Finance in the oil, gas, and the investment property industry, working for the Goodrich Operating Company, where she retired from in the spring of 2024.

Joan had many passions and things in her life that brought her joy. She was known to be an avid reader, always cradling a book or iPad reader in her hands. She enjoyed learning new things or getting lost in a good story. Joan didn’t leave all the adventures to her story book pages though, she loved traveling and making her own memories in foreign places. Whether it was domestic or international travel, Joan had a tapestry of things and places she wanted to see and experience.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Charles H. McMillan and Jean McMillan.

She is survived by her husband; Jonathan S. Lee, children; Andrew Lee, grandchild; Isabella Lee, brothers; Father Keith P. McMillan S.J., and Kevin McMillan.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, 2601 Spring Stuebner Rd, Spring, TX 77389, US, on August 26, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am, followed by a Reception at the same location from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.

A Graveside Service will take place at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home & Hillcrest Mausoleum & Memorial Park, 7405 W Northwest Hwy, Dallas, Texas 75225, on August 27, 2026, from 11:00 am to 11:30 am.
