JoAnn Kirkpatrick, age 85, of The Woodlands, Texas passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021. JoAnn was born November 5, 1935 in LaGrange, Texas. She graduated from Spring Branch High School and received her diploma.
She was married to Jerry Dean Kirkpatrick on June 6, 1953.
JoAnn was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who devoted her life to her family. JoAnn and Jerry spent many years as foster parents for Depelchin Children's Center and provided a home for over 50 pre-adopt newborns, until they were adopted into loving home. She also devoted countless hours as a court appointed special advocate (CASA) ensuring children everywhere had a safe environment to live in as well as the opportunity to thrive.
She earned Master Gardener status and found great pleasure in watching her flowers and plants flourish.
JoAnn was a member of Living Word Lutheran Church of The Woodlands, and she had a passion for her children, grand-children, great-grandchild, flowers, and gardening.
She was proceeded in death by husband; Jerry Kirkpatrick and granddaughter; Jordan Rachel Edwards.
JoAnn is survived by children; Jan and Joey Edwards, June Kirkpatrick, John and Blanca Kirkpatrick, grandchildren; Joey, Rhett, Jacob, Jerod, Joshua, Caleb, Sam, Mia, Hannah, Great-granddaughter; Jilian along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10am on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Living Word Lutheran Church, 9500 Panther Creek Dr., The Woodlands, TX 77381, burial immediately following after service.
