Allen grew up in Milford, Massachusetts and Houston, Texas, graduating from Cypress Fairbanks High School, in Houston in 1985. As a young boy, he enjoyed snow skiing and camping in New England with his family. He also experienced musical success by playing clarinet, bass clarinet and bassoon in high school and college. Allen graduated from Lamar University with a degree in Business Administration. An early passion of Allen’s was clothing design and he won a national design contest with fur and leather, which earned him a front row seat at a famous designer runway show. Another passion was cars of all ages and he was a member of several car clubs in the Austin and Dallas areas. Allen most recently enjoyed his work as an executive chauffer, and served dignitaries from all over the world, and made great friends of his clients and co-workers alike. He was known for his kindness, his generosity of spirit to help others and his creativity during the holidays. His tablescapes at Thanksgiving will remain legendary and he brought joy to everyone who knew him through his Christmas decorating efforts, holiday baking and his insanely beautiful gift wrapping.
Allen is survived by his parents John and Laura Graves; sisters: Kim Reynolds and her husband Robert, Rene’ Graves and her partner Dr. Lori Ellis; nieces: Cassandra Waid and her husband Drew, Elizabeth Garner and her husband Chris; great nieces: Lena and Scarlotte. He was preceded in death by his sister; Sabrina Leann Graves Burke, aunt: Charlotte A. Griffin; Grandparents: Mr. & Mrs. E.B. Lockhart, Mr. & Mrs. F.M. Graves.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 1st, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery located at 18000 Interstate 45 S, The Woodlands, Texas 77384.
