Jorge lived a long and rich life that included the pain of being forced to leave his home country of Cuba, but also the abundant joys of having a wife of 60 years, 4 daughters and sons in law: Barbara & Andy Nogueras, Kathina & Gerry Diaz, Jessica & Frank Hennessey and Xiomara & Alexis Camacho, as well as 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Jorge never missed an important moment. He was the foundation and the glue of our family. He had an amazing work ethic and was a great dreamer -- gifts that he passed on to his children and grandchildren . He loved fishing, tennis, and playing dominos. He laughed and danced with exuberance. He loved a good onion soup, a red snapper, and his malta and condensed milk. He made us all laugh -- except when he talked politics and bowled us all over with his very strong opinions. And boy, did he love his National Geographic magazines!
He was only one man, but he seemed much greater than that to us. He was our hero. We find solace in knowing that he will continue to provide us with guidance and protection from above.
Jorge also loved dogs and his stray cat, MichuMichu. In lieu of flowers, please honor his memory with a donation to Great Dog Rescue NE at https://www.gdrne.com/donate.
The family would like to thank the talented and caring doctors and nurses of Memorial Hermann The Woodlands, all of whom worked hard to care for Jorge and prolong his life so he could say goodbye on his terms.
