
Joseph William Laubenstein, 70, of The Woodlands, Texas, passed peacefully into eternal life on September 23, 2024. His presence was larger than life and he left a lasting legacy as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, colleague, and cherished friend. Joe was a beacon of warmth and strength, touching the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Born in Little Falls, New York, on September 30, 1953, to William and Josephine Laubenstein, Joe's life was marked by a deep sense of purpose and boundless determination. He graduated from Little Falls High School in 1971 and pursued his passion for agronomy at Cornell University. Graduating a year early in 1974, Joe earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agronomy, a testament to his intellect and ambition.
Joe's career began in the world of golf course management, where he excelled as a superintendent at several renowned golf courses across Upstate New York. His expertise in agronomy eventually led him into the business sector where he forged a successful career selling seed and fertilizer to municipalities, businesses, and golf courses throughout the Northeast. Eventually his career led him into the waste sector where he found reutilization projects for various waste streams. His current position was as Director of Coal Combustible Residuals with Waste Connections, a company he felt deeply honored and privileged to serve every day. With every venture, Joe’s remarkable work ethic and passion for excellence gained respect and admiration of his peers.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Joe was defined by his unwavering faith which guided him throughout his life. He was a dedicated attendee of Faith Bible Church.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Susan, his children Jason and Amanda, and his four grandchildren, who were the light of his life. He also leaves behind his brother Richard and two sisters, Mary and Marcia.
In honor of Joe’s life, his family invites all who knew him to carry forward his legacy of joy and kindness. Go out into the world, embrace what brings you happiness, and share that light with those around you, as Joe always did.
A memorial service to gather, honor, and remember the extraordinary man he was will be held at Faith Bible Church, in The Woodlands, Texas on 10/26/2024 @11:00am. Let the celebration in Heaven begin, for Joe has returned home to the Lord, where his light will shine forever.
