Judi was born on October 10, 1945 in Evansville Indiana, to parents Carlos and Mary Marie Smith. She graduated from Evansville Bosse, High School in 1963. After graduation, she worked for Southern Indiana Gas and Electric Co. After moving to Texas in 1979, she became involved with Mother’s Day Out and pre-school programs at her church, ultimately becoming the Director of a Mother’s Day Out program.
Judi’s greatest joy was her family. She adored her grandchildren and would have done anything for them that she could. She dedicated her life to being there whenever her children or grandchildren needed anything. It was special to her when she was able to help and be someone that her family knew could always be counted on.
She and Urey shared their lives together and made many memories when they were able to travel extensively with many trips throughout the US, Canada, Europe. Australia and New Zealand. She especially enjoyed her cruises to Alaska and the Caribbean. Another great joy she had was in spending time with her dog Buttons. She always said they had a special connection and were bonded from the minute they met.
She also enjoyed doing arts and crafts and was very talented in making specialty holiday cards. She took great pride in presenting her hand made cards to her family and friends. It was something very special that she put her love into. Taking care of her patio garden of herbs, flowers and other plants was another interest of hers that took much love and dedication.
Her family and friends will always remember a kind woman that was generous and giving. She always wanted to be of help and never wanted to be a burden to anyone.
Judi is survived by her husband of 52 years Urey of Spring, Tx.; her Son Bryan Miller, daughter-in-law Paula of Spring, Tx.; grandson Bryce and granddaughter Tobi Miller. She is preceded in death by son Eric, daughter Carrie; her parents, brother Garvin Smith, and sister Marilou Ohning.
