Judy Ann Williamson was born August 13th, 1954 at Ellington Air Force Base to Larry & Charlotte Burge. She lost her father at age five. At seven she had to help care for her three siblings, Deborah-5, Larry-3, and Rick-1, after her mother had a polio attack, Other than that her early years were healthy and happy ones, as you might expect from one that is always caring for others more so than herself. She was always the peacemaker of the family and a good student. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School, Houston, Texas in 1972. At age nine she met her future husband, Dennis, and was first kissed behind the garage (Mom just recently found this out). They were married August 24th, 1979.
Life Goes On
Shortly after marriage she was diagnosed with Lupus, but she did not let this change her demeanor to overcome this horrible disease. After six years she beat this disease with a never wavering faith that the Lord would help her prevail. Through all off this she had two beautiful daughters, Tammy and Jennifer. Through all of these years she was a great homemaker and also worked when she could. She made a career at Target and then at Wal-Mart for fifteen years. She cherished those years and she was adored by her peers. She was proud of her ability to work her way up and being promoted several times. She was so well thought of by her manager at Wal-Mart, that even after she was diagnosed with brain cancer, he let her lay down and rest whenever she needed.
The Memories
Judy Ann as usual would bring harmony to everyone she came in contact with, even after her grim prognosis of 5 to 7 years after chemo and radiation treatments. She did not deter from her role as a mother or grandmother caring for her family and especially her grandchildren which she adored with everything she had. She always made sure that each and every grandchild was cared for and remembering important dates like birthdates or school plays. Judy brought joy to the lives of her grandchildren more than anyone will ever know and they will miss their “Granny” and remember her always. She will take with her to Heaven the memories and the love of her entire family, her loving and caring husband Dennis who was beside her for thirty two years in life and beside her at the end of her journey here on Earth. Judy’s oldest daughter, Tammy Minor, gave her two beautiful grandchildren;, Jordan (13 yrs) and Dylan (10yrs). Jennifer King, the youngest, gave Judy four beautiful grandchildren; Joshua (14yrs), Damon (12yrs), Stacey (11yrs) and Jenna who preceded her in death. God bless her soul.
Judy Ann will be remembered as a loving and caring person and maybe envied as a wealthy person, not in money but that she achieved something greater; the knowledge of being rich with compassion, love, and caring of all, especially her Lord God.
