

Julianne Candice Gilliland, “Candy” born on February 15, 1943, passed away on January 19, 2025, at the age of 81 years. Born in Sharon, Pennsylvania, she was the only daughter to the late Frank and Julia Roman, also of Sharon, Pennsylvania.
Candy was a 1961 graduate of Sharon High School in Sharon, Pennsylvania. Looking back on her yearbook salutations her classmates referred to her as “the bubble of the class” and a “real sharp girl”. In her career, she first was in the banking business as a teller and then branch manager while living in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. After moving to The Woodlands, Texas later in life, she helped operate a family printing business in Houston, Texas with her late husband.
Candy is most remembered for her love for family and friends. Candy had a knack for decorating, always a hostess with flare, cooking and sharing her Romanian family dishes with those she loved. Candy had an infectious laugh and a beautiful smile, which is mirrored in her children and grandchildren.
Candy is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Julia Roman, John R. Gilliland “Bob”, the love of her life of which she was married to for 30 years, and her son-in-law Timothy J. Christian.
Candy is survived by her daughters, Lori L. Christian and Jennifer A. Bailey, Bob’s children, Brian and Lori Gilliland, her grandchildren, Tyler and Madison Christian, and Maya and Braxton Quick.
A memorial service for Candy will be held Friday, February 7, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home & Cemetery, 18000 Interstate 45 S, The Woodlands, TX 77384, followed by a reception from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
