Lawrence L. Whatley

Lawrence graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Business Administration. On December 26, 1956, he married Sylvia E. Whatley.

Lawrence was a veteran and served as a medic in the US Navy. He had a career in law enforcement, working with the ATF and Houston Police Department. He was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church, where he was a deacon. He also had a passion for football, choir, his dog Buffy, and western movies.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Annie Whatley; brother, Milton Whatley; and grandson, Jonathan Whatley. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia E. Whatley; sons, Stewart (Nancy) Whatley of McKinney, Texas; Gary (Kelly) Whatley of Crosby, Texas; and Harris County Deputy Sheriff Larry Whatley, of Tomball, Texas; grandchildren, Sabrina and Skyler Whatley; and brother, Curtis Whatley; nieces and nephews, Mark Rasco, Barron Rasco, Dr Terry Rasco, Bruce Whatley, Pamela Whatley, Gloria-Jean Whatley, Bill Whatley and Debbie Whatley

A memorial service is scheduled for Monday, April 8, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Crossroads Baptist Church, 5000 College Park Drive, in Conroe, Texas.
