Linda Jean Hall Nelson, 78, of Spring, TX, passed away November 15, 2025. She was born in Houston, TX on June 5, 1947, at Hermann Hospital. Linda grew up in Oak Forest, graduated from Waltrip High School, and went on to Sam Houston State University to earn her bachelor’s degree.
Linda had a 36-year teaching career in Conroe, Spring, Willis, and The Woodlands. She was a master teacher, who was dearly loved by students and parents - she also earned the respect and love of wonderful teams of teachers, many of whom became lifelong friends and family, including The Lindale Ladies and The Beach Group.
After meeting in 7th grade, Linda spent 38 wonderful years with her love, John (Pat) Ardoin. They enjoyed playing cards, watching movies, dancing, laughing, and enjoying life. Although she did not have children of her own, she delighted in helping to raise her sister Julie, and nephews Jason, Clayton, Carson, and Miles. However, she did not stop there, as her love, kindness, and support extended to anyone she considered friends or family!
She enjoyed traveling, and although she saw many parts of Europe and most of the United States, her favorite travels were to the beach and casino with family and friends, including her beloved life-long friends from Oak Forest.
She is survived by John (Pat) Ardoin; her sisters, Windeen Hall and Julie Hall Engle (Steve); nephews, Jason H. Boothe (Grace) Clayton Hollis Engle, Carson Robert Engle, Miles Denver Boothe; grandchildren; Taylor Shirah (Colton), Devyn Ardoin, Dani Ardoin; and great-grandchildren; Ainslee and Corbin Shirah.
Linda’s Celebration of Life and Reception will be held at 10:00am, December 1, 2025, at Forest Park-The Woodlands Funeral Home and Cemetery, 18000 Interstate 45S, The Woodlands, TX 77384 with a reception to follow.
