Lois is survived by her daughter Tracey Zientek and her husband John of Sealy, Texas; her 3 Granddaughters Sierra Johnson of Conroe,Texas, Jaclyn and Abigail Zientek of Sealy; and one Great Grandson Lane Powell of Conroe. She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Jack G. Johnson and her son Tait L. Johnson of Conroe.
Lois enjoyed playing basketball as a teenager and was a bit of a local star on the court. Later, she enjoyed watching all of her Houston teams. She was particularly fond of the Houston Rockets and the University of Houston’s Phi Slama Jama team in the early 80’s. Lois, also know to as Mrs. L. Johnson to hundreds of second grade students, taught for 32 years in the Houston Independent School District. During her career, she had the pleasure of teaching many students that would later send their own kids and even a few grandkids for her to teach.
After retirement, she went to work for her husband in the family ceramic tile business in Conroe. Ceramic Tile Distributors became her second home for many years until she and her husband Jack retired together. During their retirement they enjoyed traveling to Coushatta Casino in Louisiana. While they never made it rich they sure enjoyed playing the “one armed bandit”. Lois enjoyed watching her grandkids grow and always encouraged their academic and extracurricular activities. She will be greatly missed by her beloved Boston Terrier, Addie, whom she adored.
The family will not be having a service for her at this time. The family will be getting together during Summer 2021 to take her and Jack back to Iowa.
