Lori L. Walsko

December 23, 1954January 13, 2020

Lori Walsko, age 65, died of pancreatic cancer on January 13, 2020 in her home surrounded by her family. She fought bravely for over a year and did not waste one minute making memories with her friends and family that will last a lifetime.

Lori was born on December 23, 1954 in Gary, Indiana to parents Domenic and Shirley Bonta. She graduated from Crown Point High School. She worked as a Computer Operations Administrator for the IRS in the Criminal Investigation Division in both Indiana and Florida, where she retired in 2016. Afterwards, she and her husband moved to The Woodlands, Texas to be close to her children and grandchildren.

Lori was a talented artist, especially with oil painting. Her other list of talents are too numerous to count, and included cooking, baking, sewing and gardening. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, and took care of everyone in her life. Lori loved God and her church and enjoyed serving through her Monday group. She loved hosting friends and family in her home and had a true gift for hospitality. Her friends and family will always remember her as being kind, generous, gentle, strong and loving.

Lori is survived by her husband, Chuck Walsko; daughter, Denise Griffin; son, Aaron Claypool; son-in-law, Stephen Griffin, daughter-in-law, Cathy Claypool; three beautiful grandchildren, Leah, Molly and Nicholas; and their faithful dog, Walker. She is preceded in death by her parents, Domenic and Shirley Bonta, and her brothers, David and Tony Bonta.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, January 18 at 2:00 at Spirit of Joy! Lutheran Church at 7550 Crownridge Drive in The Woodlands, TX, 77382 with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Lori’s beautiful life.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be given to Spirit of Joy! (sojoy.org), as they have been an incredible support and community to Lori, her husband and children.

I love Lori. She was always a bright light, a loving caring person. We had so many wonderful times, many around the conference table crafting. She will be missed....and I'm so sorry for your loss. May the sweet memories overshadow the sad ones soon.

Lori was one of the most lovely persons I’ve ever known.
As her next door neighbor, since the first time I met her, she was kind and she stole my heart and my family's hearts as well.
Thanks Lori for your friendship, love and support all these years.
We love you and we always going to miss you, we will be here for Chuck and Walker.
Rest in peace my dear Lori
Love always...

My last memory of Lori was in Sept when she visited at our home. She along with cousins Karen and Mary Beth sat looking thru a very old album of "ancestors" trying to put names with faces of long ago. As they sat and giggled my heart was full. In my heart I knew this could possibly be the last visit. Lori looked beautiful and so happy to be here. I prayed she would have a long life but knew what pancreatic cancer was. Thank you Lori for being a loving niece and friend. I will forever love you. Auntie Linda
