Margaret "Peggy" Ann Gartman
June 6, 1934 – January 22, 2023

Margaret Ann “Peggy” Gartman, 88 years old, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 22, 2023.
She was a loving Mother, Wife, Daughter, Sister and Friend and she was loved by all. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband Warren Gartman, and her two sons John Walker Wallace and William Wade Wallace. She is survived by her son Raymond Lawrence Wallace, his wife, Claudia Montes Wallace, her daughter Katherine Wallace Dause, her husband William Dause, her son, Gerald Timothy Wallace, and step-sons Richard Gartman, Dean Gartman, and Craig Gartman.
Born June 6, 1934, in Lowry City, Missouri, she was a joy to all her family. She grew up in a large family with wonderful parents, Harry Lawrence and Rucynthia Pritchard. She had four brothers and one sister that adored her. The youngest of her family, she is the last of “the Greatest Generation”. She excelled in school and started at the University of Missouri where she met her first husband John Raymond Wallace. Upon her marriage, she moved to Houston, Texas where she raised her five children. She enrolled at the University of Houston and received her Master’s degree in Special Education. She taught in the Houston School District for 26 years teaching special education students the skills they would need to have a productive life. She was also a PEO Sister for 70 years. Peggy was a Golden Girl in Chapter HD in the Woodlands TX.
Raised in the Disciples of Christ Christian Church, she was a long-standing member all through her life and had met her second husband Warren at Memorial Drive Christian Church in Houston, Texas. Upon their marriage in the Woodlands Christian Church, Mom was an active member and played a significant role in the church. Peggy had a strong Christian faith that saw her through good times and bad.
Mom loved to travel and enjoyed being with her family and friends. She was proud of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Peggy was dedicated to environmental and social causes and was a patron of the theatre and the arts.

A memorial service for Margaret will be held Monday, April 3, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at The Woodlands Christian Church, 1202 N Millbend Dr, Spring, TX 77380.
