She was born in Northampton, MA on August 27, 1928. Peggy attended Westhampton College at the University of Richmond. She was married to Earle Thomas Nelson on August 5, 1950.
Peggy had a career in banking, rising to Vice President of Connecticut Bank and Trust. She was the treasurer of The Republican Women’s Club, a member of book club, and lecture league. She also had a passion for family and friends, hospitality, painting, and playing bridge.
She will be greatly missed, and is survived by her children Winifred Nelson Attaway, E. Thomas Nelson Jr, grandchildren Brian Thomas Attaway, Benjamin James Attaway, Colin Thomas Nelson, great grandchildren William and Bennett Attaway, brother Brian King, sister Judith King Handman, and many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on February 21, 2015 at Forest Park The Woodlands.
