She is survived by her children, Cindy Long, Mark Peckham, Chris Peckham and Kim Carver; her grandchildren Joan Ann Coody, Shannon Dack, Braden Peckham, Dylan Carver and Dynae Carver and numerous great grandchildren who called her "Big G".
Markey loved to travel and quilt. She could be seen heading out of town with a van full of quilting supplies and a comfortable chair. She organized many bus trips to the casino to play the slot machines. She was a frequent fixture at the Windsor Hills club house playing Tripoli and Chickenfoot. She was part of a group that met to play Mexican Train once a month and a Red Hatter.
The family will be present to receive friends beginning at 1 PM with a memorial service following at 2 PM, Saturday, November 16, 2019 in the Chapel of Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home, 18000 I-45 South, The Woodlands, TX., 77384.
In lieu of usual remembrances, the family requests donations be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, 3901 Panther Creek Drive, The Woodlands, TX., 77381 or The American Cancer Society.
