Maria "Dottie" Gonzalez Simmons

Maria Simmons,64, of Spring, Texas, known to her family as “Dottie”, passed away on August 1, 2025. She was born in Mercedes, Texas on November 22, 1960. Maria graduated from Sam Houston High School. She was a long-time resident of Conroe, Texas where she raised her two daughters. She would later move to Spring, Texas. Maria enjoyed a long and successful career of over 35 years at the CVS Distribution Center.

Maria was a devoted mother, always attending every school event and performance of her daughters. She loved Mexican food, learning to cook new things, and a good Margarita. She enjoyed spending time with her 5 beloved grandchildren and was very proud to be their Abuelita. She was also an active member of the Catholic Daughters of America.

Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Elena Gonzalez. She is survived by her daughters, Ashley Simmons and Nicholette Kerr; son-in-law, Tony Kerr; grandchildren, Cayden Cochrum, Ethan Kerr, Piper Kerr, Kylie Kerr, and Axel Kerr; and sisters, Anna Delacruz, Jessica Barrera, Veronica Guerra, Samantha Martinez and Elvira Cavazos.

A memorial service will be held on August 8, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home & Cemetery, located at 18000 Interstate 45 S, The Woodlands, Texas 77384 to be followed by a reception from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
