The Woodlands, Texas. Maria and her two brothers were the first generation children born in the U.S.A. to immigrant parents of Nicaraguan, Colombian, and Spanish descent. The Pineda family settled in San Francisco, CA where Maria lived for 38 years before moving to Texas.
Maria gave birth to her son Richard Andrew Rodriguez on January 9, 1975. After being a single parent for 12 years, she married the love of her life Timothy Kava on February 4, 1988. They met while both of them were working for the Southern Pacific Railroad in San Francisco.
Maria was preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers Denis and John Pineda. She is survived by her beloved husband Timothy Kava, her dearest son Richard Rodriguez, dear daughter-in-law Katie Rodriguez, and her two adored grandsons Andrew and Owen Rodriguez.
