Mary Patricia Arcuri passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Odyssey Hospice in Conroe after a courageous battle with melanoma. Her great faith sustained her during her illness and all the trials in her life. She was never without a Rosary and prayed daily for her family
Pat was born on March 12, 1935 to Isadore and Rosella Overberger who preceded her in death.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Raynold A. Arcuri, who died on February 22, 2011. Beloved children, Renny (Carolyn) of Earlton, NY, Suzanne (Brian) Larkin of The Woodlands, TX, John (Nancy) of Marion, MA, Ellen Arcuri Cicero (Joseph) of Bethel, CT, Paul Arcuri of South Pasadena, CA. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Paino of Pearl River, NY and her nieces, Patricia Paino of Pearl River, NY and Barbara Keber of Glen Cove, NY.
She was the adored grandmother of Andrew (Katrina) Larkin, Matthew Larkin, Ryan Cicero (Maria), Brenna Cicero, Mary-Cate Cicero, Meghan Cicero, Lauren Arcuri, John Paul Arcuri and Nikki Arcuri. She was also survived by three great grandchildren, Conner, Alexis and Brooke Larkin and one expected in October.
Pat enjoyed her career of teaching elementary education in The Archdiocese of New York for 24 years. She was involved with The Girl Scouts of Westchester with both of her daughters. Pat and her husband, Ray, raised their five children in Pelham, NY where she was a parishioner of St. Catharine's until her retirement in 1996. She and her husband, Ray, built a home in Yarmouthport, MA where her children and grandchildren enjoyed many wonderful vacations. Pat worked at the Hallmark Store in Hyannis, MA until she and her husband relocated to The Woodlands, TX for milder winters. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and sang in the choir up until her illness kept her at home.
She will be greatly missed by all those who had the chance to know her. Well done, Mom and Nana, good and faithful servant.
