Mary Lou brought joy, light, and a little bit of sparkle every where she went. Selfless and with a Servant’s heart, she was always there for those she loved and she never knew a stranger. A woman of many names, her favorite was MeMe. Her grandsons were the light of her life. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, and she always found a way to make each gathering magical and memorable. Married for 53 years, her husband, Charlie adored her. Many of their fondest memories are from their travels. Together they taught their children, Carlos and Jay, integrity, loyalty and compassion. She proudly instilled in her daughters-in-law how to love by example. Mary Lou has a beautiful soul filled with love and grace that will continue to shine on her family as well as those who were blessed to have known her. Mary Lou will always be her family’s hero. She was a daddy’s girl and we take comfort in knowing she is with her parents, brother, sister, and our Lord.
She is preceded in death by her parents Sulema and Reynaldo G. Ortiz, her sister Aurora Morris, brother-in-law Paul T. Morris and brother Johnny Ray Ortiz. She is survived by her husband Charlie Reyes, her sons Carlos Santana Reyes (Crystal), Jay Anjel Reyes (Erika) and grandsons Maxwell, Oliver, and Cruz, as well as her siblings, Joe Ray, Dora, Mary Inez, Rosalie, Cindy, their spouses, and extended family.
