Mary Pat Vanlandingham

Pat Vanlandingham, 88, of Conroe, Texas, formerly of Boulder, Colorado, Columbia, Missouri and Duncan, Oklahoma was called home to her Lord on August 27, 2026. She was born in

Duncan, Oklahoma on December 4, 1937 to Price and Louise Holcomb (deceased).

Mom was very vivacious, fun-loving, and adventurous. She was always up for planning another event or get-together. It seemed like her suitcase was always ready for a road trip, a cruise, or another exciting destination. She had an uncanny business acumen. Her ability to connect with colleagues and clients was a lifelong asset and endeared her to many.

Mary Pat was very active at Duncan High School. She enjoyed cheerleading, being on the Homecoming Court, serving as President of the National Honor Society, and a member of

the Jolly Jills. She was also named to Who’s Who of American Women. She attended Oklahoma A&M, now known as Oklahoma State University. While there, she joined Pi Beta Phi National Fraternity for Women and became a lifelong member.

On August 17, 1957, she married her childhood sweetheart, Robert Vanlandingham. Prior to his death, they had 58 years of marriage full of family, travels, and lifelong friends. In her new role as a military wife, Pat excelled. She supported her husband’s military career and numerous moves, including an overseas tour, where she devoted her energies to service and held numerous positions on The Officers Wives Club. Pat was also instrumental in starting a local charity in Korea that supported a local orphanage, was a member of the National Red Cross, a Girl Scout Leader, and involved with numerous PTAs.

After moving to Columbia, Missouri, Robert and Pat began a new life as civilians. Pat’s next chapter included a career as Director of Transportation for Columbia Public Schools. During this time, she also enjoyed traveling the Midwest with Julie and her various horses on the horse show circuit. She was an active leader for the Rock Bridge Bruins Booster Club and was instrumental with her husband in raising funds for the building of the high school football stadium.

Pat and her husband, became successful real estate investors and property managers. After a move to Boulder, Colorado, they continued pursuing real estate investing and property management. Pat was a property manager with Triple V from 1986 to her retirement. She also was a founding member of the Boulder Area Rental Housing Association, where she served as President.

Colorado was the backdrop for many happy years. She loved the mountains and the outdoor lifestyle she enjoyed, from camping and foliage tours to traveling Colorado with family and friends. Her beloved cabin in the Poudre Canyon was enjoyed by many, especially her grandchildren. Many summers were spent with them enjoying the cool mountain air, trout fishing, hiking, and catching chipmunks. They enjoyed their winter home in Canyon Lake, Texas, where they gardened, tinkered and continued to host many gatherings for family and friends. They then relocated from Boulder to Conroe, Texas. Pat had many friends in her Windsor Lakes neighborhood. She enjoyed many parties, numerous road trips, and cruises with friends. Her trip to Russia was a highlight.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Vanlandingham, and her brother Jim Holcomb. She is survived by her daughter Julie and Bill Hough of The Woodlands, Texas, and her son David and Laura Vanlandingham of Winter Garden, Florida. Grandchildren include Travis (Erica) Hough of The Woodlands, Texas, Kelli (Christopher) Gore of Leland, North Carolina, Drew Hough of Houston, Texas, Jade (Keith) Walsh of Las Vegas, Nevada, Tiffany (Daniel) Tautenhahn of Las Vegas, Nevada, Brandon (Kendra) Vanlandingham of Las Vegas, Nevada, Dylan Vanlandingham of Winter Garden, Florida, and Daniel Vanlandingham, also of Winter Garden, Florida. Great-grandchildren include Katherine Hough of The Woodlands,Texas, Easton Gore of Leland, North Carolina, and Brooks Gore of Leland, North Carolina.

She is also survived by her brother-in-law Don (Mimi) Vanlandingham of Rollins, Montana. Pat is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

Visitation will be Friday, September 18, 2026 at 3:00pm at Forest Park Funeral Home in The Woodlands, Texas. Her funeral service and burial will be on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at 10:00am at the Forest Park Funeral Home Chapel in The Woodlands, Texas.
