

Matthew was born in Dayton, Ohio on May 03, 1976 to John William Lopp and Lynda Jane Kemplin. He grew up in Harrodsburg, Kentucky graduating as Valedictorian of Harrodsburg High School in 1994.
He graduated from The University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1999 and went on to obtain his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 2004. A practicing dentist for 20 years, he was admired by patients and peers for his skills as a dentist and his ability to make people feel comfortable and at ease. His compassionate ways and his caring heart are what made him a great dentist.
Matthew was passionate about his many interests including fishing, woodworking and making furniture, traveling and golfing. He loved spending time with his wife and daughters who were the lights of his life.
He loved sports especially the Pittsburgh Steelers and the University of Kentucky Wildcats. Win or lose, those were his teams. Matthew loved to laugh and did so often with his infectious smile and boisterous laugh. He has left a lasting impact on all who crossed his path.
Matthew was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Lynda Jane (Price) and Frank Kemplin; and grandparents Hollie and Mary Jo (Elliot) Price, and Maurice and Anna (Shireman) Lopp.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 8 years, Jacqueline Danielle Lopp; daughters, Madison Blair Lopp, Anna Delane Lopp and Jane Elizabeth Lopp; father, John William Lopp and stepmother, Debra Lopp of Floyds Knobs, Indiana; brother, Jason Lopp, sister-in-law, Candace Lopp, nieces, Emma Lopp, Lauren Lopp and nephew, Jacob Thomas (JT) Lopp of New Albany, Indiana; brother Michael Lopp of Harrodsburg, Kentucky; half-sister Sara Lopp Dietrich, brother-in-law Jimmy Dietrich and niece Sienna Dietrich of New Albany, Indiana; step-brother, Zachary Potts and nephew, Jaxon Potts of Louisville, Kentucky; father-in-law, Joe Valent and mother-in-law, Sandra Valent of Corpus Christi, Texas; brother-in-law, Jeremy Loftin, sister-in-law, Jennifer Loftin, niece, Oliva Loftin and nephew, Peyton Loftin of Corpus Christi, Texas; sister-in-law, Cassandra Valent and brother-in-law, Joseph Donald (JD) Kirchmeyer of Corpus Christi, Texas.
Matthew will be remembered for his contagious laugh, joyful attitude, and cheerful personality. His kindness, love, and humor leave a lasting impact on family, friends, and patients alike. He will be forever loved and remembered by all who knew him.
