

Neal was born in Atlanta, Georgia on April 16, 1943 to parents Hoyt Maxie and Mary Neal Dye. Growing up on the family farm in Georgia, he learned the importance of hard work early in life from his father. Though the family home lacked electricity and running water, his father impressed upon him the value of an education and a strong work ethic. He went on the graduate from Warrenton High School in Warrenton, Georgia and continued his education at Mercer University in Atlanta, Georgia where he earned his Bachelor's Degree.
Neal proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, answering the call to serve with courage, dedication, and honor. During his time in the Army, he served as a Military Policeman and became a decorated soldier, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal.
Neal enjoyed a long and successful career as an accountant for both Texaco and Shell Oil. Starting in Atlanta, Georgia at the Regional Accounting Office, he transferred to Houston in 1981. He then advanced to Manager working until the Texas Shell Oil merger. He retired in 2005 and had plenty of time to pursue his relationship with Beth whom he had met in 2000. Their meeting marked the beginning of a new chapter, one that brought love, companionship, and a family that would change his life. Together, Neal and Beth built their relationship upon the foundation of God’s Word. They married on October 6, 2006, sharing almost 20 years as husband and wife. Through his marriage to Beth, Neal discovered the joys his newfound "Texas Family" complete with children and grandchildren.
Neal was a member of First Baptist Church in Conroe,Texas where he became a member of the Men's Group and formed many lasting friendships. He also had a passion for Corvettes, a love he enjoyed sharing with friends and fellow enthusiasts. These simple pleasures, along with the people he loved, brought him many cherished memories throughout his life.
Neal was preceded in death by his parents, Hoyt Maxie and Mary Neal Dye. He is survived by his wife Beth and her children Kelly Powell, and husband Cory Powell, and Kyle Noviskie, and wife Ashley Klasnich; and grandchildren Avery, Shane, and Cannon. He is also survived by his cousins in Georgia Frankie Porter and Dianne Raburn and their families. He will be remembered by cherished friends who have been like family and sources of support during his life.
Neal will be deeply missed by his family, friends, co-workers, and church family. He was completely devoted to the people who surrounded him, giving them his time, his loyalty, and his heart. The love he shared and the lives he touched are the legacy he leaves behind—a legacy that will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A visitation for Mr. Dye will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026 from 11am-12pm followed by Funeral Service at 12pm at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home & Cemetery, 18000 Interstate 45S, The Woodlands, TX 77384. Burial will be on Monday, October 5, 2026 at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77038 please line-up by 1:15pm at the cemetery.
