Michael Brawner, known to family and friends as Mike, was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Mike's educational background includes attending All Saints Catholic School in Houston, TX for his primary education. He graduated from Saint Thomas High School in Houston, TX in 1955. Later, he earned a BBA in Business Management in 1959 from Texas A&M University in College Station, TX.
Mike had a fulfilling life and made a significant impact on those around him. He was a cadet in the Corp at Texas A&M. After graduation he served in the US Air Force as a lieutenant from 1960 to 1963, proudly contributing to the nation’s defense.
After his military service, Mike embarked on a successful career at Texaco, Inc. in Houston, TX. He worked as a programmer and steadily climbed the ranks to management during his 35-year tenure with the company.
In his free time, Mike indulged in his passion for sports. He excelled in baseball and basketball during his high school years. Later in life, he found a new love for baseball through umpiring. He became an acclaimed high school and college umpire, officiating numerous local and state playoff games. Mike was also an avid fan of the Houston Astros.
Mike will be dearly missed by his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Colleen N. Brawner, and their sons, Stephen and wife Toni, Kenneth and wife Sandra, and Christopher, sister-in-law Bobbie and husband Michael Grochett. He also leaves behind five grandchildren, Bradley, Brandon, Clayton, Stephanie, and Samantha, along with four great-grandchildren Brody, Blayke, Preston, and Savannah. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arvilla and George Brawner and younger sister Valerie Hendricks.
Mike's memory will live on through the legacy he leaves behind. His dedication to his country, successful career, and love for sports will forever be cherished by those who knew him.

A memorial service for Michael will be held Monday, October 23, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery, 18000 Interstate 45 South, The Woodlands, Texas 77384, followed by a reception at 11:00 AM.
