Not sure I ever acknowledged Michael’s passing, Rob. While our folks knew each other before all of us were born, so very sorry to hear about Mikes passing, Rob and Wendy. I remember your home in penn valley with all those apple trees and that HUGE fireplace there… and your home at the shore lying on the ocean beach on a clear night looking up at the stars. But in his later years years not sure we kept in touch that much… except that Mike was a brilliant guy. I Remember your mom’s cooking and telling your dad that I had smoked marajuana - why? Who knows - maybe because he was a doctor . Rob - hope you are well wherever you’re living. We sold our home and recently moved into a wonderful CCRC Shannondell.com in Audubon not to far from penn valley.  Miss Mike a lot…Dick and Maggie (wife of 30 years)

Hi Wendy, 
I would like to share something about my former psychiatrist, Dr. Madow. Each time I came in for my monthly appt I was always happy to see you Wendy and Dr. Madow. Both of you enriched my life and we all shared a deep love for animals. I miss Dr. Madow, I cared about him as my psychiatrist and I also considered him a friend. I was always treated well and he lifted my spirit when I was down. I would ask about y’all’s cats and offer my sympathy when one passed. I would like to thank you for all the work that was put into my mental health  are. Dr. Madow cared about me and his patients and left a lastly impression on me. I miss him terribly and Wendy, I miss you. I have kept you in my prayers EVERY NIGHT and truly think of you and how hard losing your husband and best friend must be. I want to thank you Wendy, you are an amazing strong woman and I would love to tell you just how much of an impact you had on my life. I think of you often and your kitties. My heart pours out to you and Dr. Madow, I look forward to meeting again on the other side. 
God bless you and thank you for including me in the email as I will always want to keep in touch. Dr. Madow was my doctor from 2010 to 2022 and I have yet to meet another doctor that is as passionate and driven to help his patients succeed.

Please accept my sincere condolences for Dr. Madows passing. He was my psychiatrist in 2008; he treated me for Bipolar Disorder. With his genius skills as a Psychiatrist I was stabilized and have been in remission to this day. I appreciate his kindness and empathy; you never left his office without a hug.

Dr. Madow was my psychiatrist for 12 years.  He made my life better! I think of him often and what he would say to me when I am feeling down. 
We both shared a love for our feline friends and he saved me!

There are no words to express the sorrow of Dr. Madow's passing. 
My heart goes out to you, Wendy.  I've known Dr. M, as Icalled him, 
for over 30 years, not only as my doctor but as a dear friend.  He made a hugh difference in my life, challenging me along the way, to
give life my very best and the chips would fall into place.  Whether
in person or on the phone, his last words were, "you can do this". 
I cannot say enough how grateful I am to Dr. M for all the time he 
invested in getting me to the person that I am today.  When I met
the love of my life, my soulmate, Dr. M and Wendy were to be our 
witnesses.  There was no question about it, I wanted Dr. M to witness this very happy occasion.  When my husband passed a little over a year ago, I knew I would in time be able to deal with the tragedy because Dr. M helped me find the inner strength I didn't know existed.  Again, I heard, "you can do this".  Dr. M was 
a kind and gentle man who was taken from earthly life way too soon.  As Dr. M knew, I never say "good-bye", so I leave him with, 
"until we meet again".  Wendy, I will continue to pray for your

Heartfelt condolences from your Weisman cousins on the occasion of Michael's passing.  Aunt Jean (Weisman) Madow and my father Phil Weisman were close cousins, and we enjoyed those too rare occasions when we saw Mike and Rob along with their parents in the Philadelphia area.  Tom and I were occasional dinner guests at the Madows while students at Haverford College, and we remember the Madow brothers fondly.  

Rob, you and I have had occasion to renew family ties and explore  our Dayton roots in recent years - and you kindly shared the news of Michael's passing.  

It is a pleasure, if melancholy, to learn so much about Michael's memorable path through life from today's celebration of his life and to hear from others about his positive effect on their lives.  Our kindest thoughts are with Michael, Wendy and the family at this time.

Michael was one of my best friends in high school. 
Through the years we stayed in touch, though sporadically.
In the past ten years he and Wendy visited us twice in Albuquerque
and we enjoyed the meals and reminiscences together. He was
brilliant, funny and compassionate. I'll never forget how in (about)
1995 he offered to help fund my budding artistic attempts. I
refused, because I thought I wasn't ready for such support, but it

I first met Dr. Madow in Las Vegas, as I was starting my private practice, and I had a wonderful time working with him and Wendy. Our professional connection grew into a very dear friendship that I shared with both. Once I moved to London, I very much looked forward to their annual trips. We would meetup and have the best meals and conversations. It was common for time to escape us and spend hours talking. Beyond his scholarly talents, Dr. Madow could have easily had a career as a luxury travel guide. He would find the best restaurants and had read recommendations for all the secret jewels a place had to offer. One of my treasured memories is when the couple included me on Wendy’s birthday celebration to Wales. I had recently purchased my first UK car styled car, which meant that it was both a manual and had the steering wheel on the right side. Neither Dr. Madow nor Wendy batted an eye, as I strapped them inside, and we drove from London for a day trip to Wales. One of my most treasured memories is Wendy and I almost being blown off the pier into the ocean. Being tourist, we didn’t realize why the boardwalk down toward the water was so empty.  But we soon learned that the closer we got to the water, the more the wind wanted to carry you away. We made it, but the umbrella was literally in tatters. To make the moment even more special, there was a café with a huge picture window. As we clung to each other and fought our way back to the top of the pier, we looked up to stunned faces, smiles and waves of the locals that had been given a free show with their meals. And standing there patiently was Dr. Madow; that was his way. I’ll share with the universe what I pray for Wendy. May Dr. Madow’s memory be a blessing. God draw near to Wendy and let her feel your presence and your comfort. It is your mercy that provides and will carry any sorrow, as we remember the life and happiness shared by your son. Draw his soul to you and wrap Wendy in the love of her soul mate. Amen

I had the honor of meeting Dr. Madow when I was about five years old. He was truly an amazing person who will be missed by many. He was a very important person in my life, he motivated and inspired me to continue my studies and to strive to be the best person I can be. I will never forget the many dinners my mom and I had with Wendy and Dr. Madow where we discussed school, work, and personal stories. Most importantly I will never forget how happy and proud he was of me and my accomplishments 
I am and will forever be grateful for having the chance of meeting and building a relationship with him. May he Rest In Peace.

Long, long ago and far away Michael and I came into each other’s lives.  But the cosmos had other plans.  Decades passed, our paths crossed, and friendship ensued. Michael was a man of many interests and talents.  As for example, his musical likes ranged from Ravi Shankar to the Philadelphia Orchestra to the Rolling Stones. He was a graceful natural athlete – put him in the water, or on a diving board, or even put a golf club in his hand, and he would make it look easy. He was committed to being a healer – in medical school he co-founded a counseling service staffed by volunteer medical students. Also, smart (really smart), witty, a steadfast friend and just generally a good person.  My heart goes out to Wendy.

Dr. Madow was a brilliant person who will be missed. My heart aches knowing that he is no longer here with us. I will treasure all the great moments that we shared. I had the honor and pleasure of knowing Dr. Madow on a professional and personal level for over 17 years.  I was delighted to work for Dr. Madow, he was an amazing person who treated everyone with respect. He was always there for me and my family. Dr. Madow had a positive influence in my life as well as the life of my daughter.  I will treasure his memory and he will always have a special place in my heart. I feel blessed to have had him in my life.  May he Rest In Peace

Wendy I’m very sorry for your loss. Life will not be the same without  Dr. Madow. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Always know I am here to offer my heartfelt support and friendship in this difficult time.


The Madow family name has been in my vocabulary for as far back as I can remember. Michael’s brother, Robbie, as I know him, was in my class at Friends’ Central School from day one, Michael’s parents were dear friends of my parents, and Michael was one of my Mother’s  very favorite students, and they remained close after he graduated.

I didn’t get to know Michael well until after we both left the Philadelphia area.  Our paths intersected when I would visit my folks in New Orleans and after I moved there.  I was thrilled when Michael and Wendy joined forces and loved getting together with them downtown and then in Slidell.  After New Orleans, I spent time with them in Las Vegas, and, most recently, in Albuquerque, where Michael and Wendy planned a visit with his FCS classmate, Marc Sherson.  Between visits, Michael and I would chat on the phone or text every now and again.  He was always so thoughtful … hoping to hear that all was well on my end and filling me in on how he and Wendy were doing.

Like everyone else, I am in a state of disbelief and grief.  I will miss everything about Michael … and his laugh.

My Most Sincere and Deepest Condolances to Wendy in the loss of Michael her Husband. I became Friends with Michael and Wendy while serving as a Pet Sitter for their Kittys. We enjoyed a few lovely Dinners with Michael and Wendy.  Michael was a very gentle and caring man and deeply loved Wendy as well as his Kittys Niles and Frazier. He will be missed however Michaels light will shine on in Wendy heart as well as Niles & Fraizer whom he adored. RIP my Dear Friend... until we meet again...
