Nancy H. Caldwell, 92, of Conroe, TX, passed from this life on Tuesday, June 18, 2024. Born in Paris, TX, on September 16, 1931, Nancy graduated from Paris High School where she excelled at bookkeeping and home economics; the skills that she honed there she built upon and put to great use for the rest of her life. Nancy was married to Bruce J. Caldwell, Sr.
Nancy worked as a secretary, bookkeeper, and office manager in the natural gas industry for decades both for Transwestern Pipeline Company and Tejas Instrument Engineers, Inc. Along with her husband, she developed the land that would become the development of Cumberland Estates.
Intensely private and reticent, Nancy’s family feels confident that she would be comfortable with our sharing the following: Nancy believed strongly in education and was supportive of and pleased with her grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s college degrees; a world traveler, Nancy tastefully decorated her home with pieces collected on her trips; an early adopter of organic gardening and especially a lover of roses, in her later years Nancy finally conceded that the native Texas deer had bested her; the hummingbirds that frequented Nancy’s feeders brought delight to her days.
Nancy was predeceased by her husband, parents, and siblings. She is survived by: Rebecca C. Miller of New Jersey (daughter), and James M. Caldwell of Texas (bonus son); grandchildren, Elizabeth Master, Matthew Miller, Katherine Shami, Christopher Caldwell, Meredith Baxter, and Julianne Gutierrez; six great-grandchildren.
The interment for Nancy will be held Tuesday, July 2, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery, 18000 Interstate 45 S, The Woodlands, TX 77384.
