Norma graduated from Galena Park High School and received both her BBA and MBA from the University of Houston. She married the love of her life, Walter Lee Shuler, August 25, 1956.
Norma was a born teacher. She was a professor at the University of Houston but spent most of her career as a CPA until she retired. She had her own practice for over 35 years, and many of her clients became her lifelong friends.
Norma belonged to a number of professional and civic organizations, but her true passion was teaching others about Jesus! She especially enjoyed working with children and teens through Sunday School, Bible Quiz, and Missionettes (now known as Girls’ Ministry.) She loved her Women’s Bible Study group, served as church treasurer, and was given many awards for her service throughout the years.
She was preceded in death by her dad, Ted Anderson; her brother, Gerald Anderson; her mother, Vida Mae Anderson; and her husband, Walter Shuler.
She is survived by her brother, Johnny Anderson and wife Susie; her children, Terri Shuler Pope and husband Ronnie, Scott Shuler and wife Christy; seven grandchildren, Kristie Pope-Dunn Tran, Kaylee Pope Gower, Jon Shuler, Kelsey Pope, Jordan Shuler, Jansen Shuler, Morgan Shuler and their spouses, seven great-grandchildren and one on the way. She also leaves other family and friends who will all miss her dearly.
