Pat was born in Somerville, Massachusetts to Mafalda and Andrew Testa. Pat was a proud Korean War veteran, deployed on the aircraft carriers USS Lexington and USS Princeton during his service in the U.S. Navy. He parlayed these experiences into a career in the airline industry, working first with National Airlines and then with Pan American Airlines. After a short retirement, he worked another several years with British Airways. Throughout his long and dynamic career, he served in a variety of managerial positions, including Station Manager at Philadelphia International Airport.
In 1961, Pat married the love of his life, Nancy Comer. They went on to have five children. Pat was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and son. He was a seemingly never-ending source of inspiration to his children. He had a strong work ethic, an adventurous spirit, and was a master of all trades. He was always busy with productive projects around the house: building fences, sheds, room modifications and additions, or a comprehensive genealogical family tree. Summers were filled with great adventures: long camping trips through the mountains and beaches of New England, zigzagging his sailboat through dozens of lakes and bays, and visiting far-away relatives.
Pat made friends easily. He had an infectious positive attitude, a warm and friendly smile, and a reassuring, gentle demeanor. He deeply appreciated all his friends over the years, whether they be neighbors, coworkers, fellow parishioners (at St. Edward Catholic Church), fellow Municipal Utility District members (where he served as an elected officer for over 30 years), or his brothers at the Knights of Columbus (where he reached the fourth-degree status of Sir Knight).
Pat is preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Nancy Testa; his father, Andrew Testa, and his mother, Mafalda Testa. He leaves behind his children: Andy (and Bridget) Testa, Susan (and Russell) Long, Stephen (and Laura) Testa, John Testa, Joanne (and Mitch) Humphrey; his grandchildren: Jamie (and Daniel) Blouin, Rebecca (and George) Nassif, Matthew Testa (and fiancé Heather LaVallee), Adam Baker (and fiancé Debrah Sherban), Rachael (and Andrew) Dequeant; his great grandchildren: Clara Blouin and Edith Dequeant; and his siblings: Nick (and Margo) Testa, Adele (and Edward) Russ, Sandra Gonzales, Lenny (and Sally) Testa.
'Sogni d’oro caro uno; il tuo amore vive dentro di noi’.
Pat will be cremated and laid to rest, with military honors, beside his wife at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home and Cemetery. The celebration of his life, followed by his interment, will be held on December 3, 2021 at 10:00 am. All expressions of sympathy, including flowers, honorary donations to your preferred charity, and cards are welcome.
