Patrick Joseph "Bubba" Kasper won the battle, was finally healed, and went home to be with the Lord on April 4, 2012. He was born July 24, 1954. Pat passed away while battling Melanoma for the past 10 months. He was first diagnosed and fully recovered from brain cancer in 1996, followed by a fall which he hit his head resulting in a traumatic brain injury in 2006. Pat has always wanted to visit the moon, and now he has a perfect view of it! He is now free to walk, free to run, free of cancer, free to play softball once again, and free of all disabilities.
Pat retired after 30 years of service with the Houston Fire Department in 2004. Pat took such pride in serving The City of Houston as a firefighter and paramedic. Sharing his testimony of what the Lord has done in his life, fighting fires and saving lives was his passion next to being a loving husband and the world’s greatest father! As a firefighter, he was always 'First In and Last Out.' As a paramedic, his peers said he was "on the short list;" meaning if any of their own lives or their family members lives were on the line, they would want PAT KASPER as their paramedic.
He lived to embarrass his daughters, taking ownership of a room as soon as he entered, and making people laugh. Pat stared death in the face multiple times through medical challenges and while serving the Houston Fire Department, but God had a different plan and it was not his time! Pat has always followed the path our Lord Jesus Christ has laid out for him! Pat is survived by his high school sweetheart, Debbie Kasper. Pat and Debbie have been married for 38 ½ years. He is also survived by his 2 daughters Kayla and Patricia. He was preceded in death by his father (Leo), mother (Alice), and best friend (Dale). Pat loved being a man of God, father, husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend.
Pat spent his last days/weeks enjoying his three girls, watched both daughters graduate from college, going to a Texans game, going to his last Houston Rodeo, spending quality time with family and friends, and overlooking the ocean on a California bluff while whale watching and enjoying sunsets. There will be a service to celebrate his life held on Friday April 6, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Spring First Church, 1851 Spring Cypress Rd, Spring, TX, 77388. Burial will be on Saturday April 7, 2012 in Utopia, TX where Pat enjoyed many hours over the years floating down the Frio River.
