After a five month battle with cancer, Paulette passed away in her home, surrounded by her family on Christmas Eve.
It is believed that this is the only battle she ever lost.
She is survived by her husband Bruce Sr., mother Paula Underwood, sons Bruce II and wife Faith, John, Josh and Brad, grandson Beckett, her sister Stephanie Dennison, and brothers Joe and John Underwood. She is preceded by her father John Boyd Underwood.
Paulette grew up in Jonesboro, GA and many of her family still reside in the area. After she married, she settled in Spring, TX with stints in Nevada, Wisconsin, Illinois, Nebraska and Florida, but Houston was always what she considered her home.
In life, Paulette’s passions were her work, her family and her desire to relax on cruises and sandy beaches. The latest highlight in Paulette’s life was the birth of her first grandson in March.
Paulette was a director of right of way with Southern Union Gas and enjoyed a 25 year career in the pipeline industry. She was widely known and respected by everyone including those who managed her work, her co-workers, those that worked under her and those that opposed her.
To anyone that knew her, she was extremely proud of her family, particularly her boys. Her four sons were her pride and joy and she will continue to watch over them, her husband and grandson from Heaven.
She will be greatly missed.
A memorial for Paulette was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday December 28th at Forest Park Funeral Home – The Woodlands.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Shriner’s Hospital or your favorite charity.
