Surrounded by her loving family, Pauline Savage Johnston was called home to the Lord on October 11, 2025. Her unwavering faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her through seasons of both joy and sorrow. She believed deeply in the promise of eternal life and now rests in the arms of her Savior. Her greatest joy was her family — her loving husband, each child, grandchild, and great-grandchild a blessing she thanked God for every day.
Pauline was born on September 11, 1941, in Findley, Oklahoma, to John Henry Savage and Goldie Marie (Osgood) Savage. She graduated from Warren High School (Arkansas) in 1959, and on April 2, 1960, she married her sweetheart - the love of her life - David Johnston. Together they built a home centered on faith, love, and steadfast devotion to one another and their children.
Pauline is preceded in death by her parents, John Henry and Goldie Savage, a sister Alice Thompson and a brothers Raymond and Eugene (Pop) Savage. She is survived by her devoted husband, David Johnston, and their beloved children: Suzanne Meador (Scott), Judy, Jonathan (Staci), and Amy Mallahan (Lee). She leaves behind a cherished legacy through her grandchildren: Ashley Klaja (Brian), Katie Greenwood (Evan), Cole Smalley (Sierra), Reagan, Anna Rumpel (Austin), Abby Bolton (Justin), Reagan Smalley, David Smalley (K’leigh and Remington), and Alex Johnston; as well as Taylor, Travis and Bella Bratton and her great-grandchildren: Hannah and Scott Klaja, Eli and Suzie June Greenwood, and Bethany Joy Rumpel.
Pauline’s life was a testimony of grace, kindness, and quiet strength. Her faith was not just spoken—it was lived daily through acts of love, prayer, and encouragement. She found beauty in the simple things: time spent with family, laughter shared around the table, and reading her Bible that lifted her heart toward heaven. Those who knew her were blessed by her gentle spirit and her steadfast trust in God’s promises.
