Peggy Jean Ward Scroggins passed from her temporal life to her eternal life June 8, 2020. Peggy was born July 30, 1931 in Commerce, Texas to parents Eva Christine and George Andrew (Andy) Ward both deceased. While a small child, the family moved to Greenville, Texas where she attended public schools until graduation.
Peggy became a Christian at age 8 and was baptized at Park Street Baptist Church, Greenville, Tx. In 1948 Peggy enrolled in Oklahoma Baptist University where she met Ray Scroggins. The two were married in 1949. With this union were born Karen Denise, David Andrew (Andy) deceased, and Susan Elaine.
Karen is a retired school employee. She is married to Wesley Johnson, a retired Baptist preacher. They live in Granbury, Tx. Their daughter Amy teaches school in Grapeland, Tx. She is married to T. C. Howard, an emt executive. Their 2 children are Blake and Emma. Their son Christopher is a tennis coach in North Richland Hill, Tx. His wife Anita is a preschool executive. Their children are Victoria (Tori) Reese, and Kyler. Susan Kelley, a Registered Nurse lives in The Woodlands, Tx. She has two sons, Joseph teaches math to English speaking high school students in China, and David is a caddy for women's professional golf.
Peggy loved to sing and do needlework. She was always active and participated in the Christian ministry of her husband.
Visitation and greeting of family will be Thursday, June 11 at Forest Park The Woodlands, 18000 I 45 South; Internment will be Friday, June 12 with celebration of life and Memorial service at the chapel of Forest Park. Fellowship reception follows the service.
