Perry was married for 40 years to Beverly Almond Murphree, and they raised two wonderful daughters Ansley and husband John, and Abbey and husband Greg. Perry’s greatest delight was his five grandchildren, Trey, Lynn, Jake, Luke, and JP who called him Papa.
Perry leaves behind his parents, Lynn and Vera Ann Murphree, and his brother Paul. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, and cousins whom he had a profound impact on their lives. Perry’s greatest joy in life was spending time with family. Though Perry had a quiet demeanor, one could always go to him to talk and to ask for advice. He was always present and willing to share. One knew he truly cared.
Perry’s hobbies and enjoyment included the Arkansas Razorbacks where he was a cheerleader. He loved the game of golf, whether playing it or watching it. He was an avid fan of all sports.
Perry retired from Marubeni Oil and Gas USA Inc. in 2018 as the Chief Operating Officer after a 37 year career in the oil and gas industry, where he made many lifelong friends.
Soon after retirement, Perry was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, which he fought valiantly to the very end.
In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research or the charity of your choice in Perry’s memory.
