She was born on July 28, 1929 in St. Petersburg, FL to the late Robert and Alice Tomlinson.
Polly is the former co-owner of Mote’s Mountain View Bed & Breakfast in Ridgecrest, NC. She was very active member of numerous mission boards, serving as director of the WMU- Miami Baptist Association for four years. She also served on the State Baptist Missions Board from 1984-1987 and was the Spiritual Aims Director of the Kiwanis Club of Black Mountain for three years. Polly was a member of Ashville First Baptist Church in Ashville, NC and Crossroads Baptist Church in The Woodlands, TX.
Polly is preceded in death by her parents, brother Gratten Tomlinson, and granddaughter Kellie Fernandez.
Polly is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Henry A. Mote; daughter Debbie Browne & husband Larry; brother Charlie Tomlinson & wife Peggy; grandson Kyle Fernandez & wife Christy; step-grandchildren, Aaron Browne, Clint Falgout & wife Aimee & Andrea Browne.
Funeral Services are set for 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Crossroads Baptist Church, 5000 College Park Drive, The Woodlands, TX, 77384 with Pastor Larry York officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 o’clock until 8 o’clock on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at the Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home.
